Maths teacher salary in Dubai

Working as a maths teacher in Dubai you can expect to earn a salary worth around £30,000 (135,000QR). Of course, this will depend on the role, school and experience you have, but maths teaching roles in Dubai generally come with good benefits. At the higher end of the scale in more senior roles, the salary could reach £40,000 or more, especially in private international schools.

Qualifications

Curriculum

You will find when applying for jobs that many descriptions will mention Key Stage, GCSE and A-Level practices, making it easier for you to transfer your skills over to working in the UAE. This will mean, as a maths teacher, you will be expected to cover the usual key studies like algebra, quadratics, trigonometry amongst all other typical studies you’ll find in the UK.

Education standards

Progress continues to be made by students studying maths, with the most recent Pisa rankings showing that average scores amongst 15-year-olds in the UAE are improving. In 2019, the UAE produced an average score of 435, compared to an OECD average of 489. This places them ahead of a number of surrounding countries, including the likes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon and Jordan. The UAE is currently positioned 50th in the world in terms of maths rankings. The UAE government has stated that when the next assessment cycle is beginning they are aiming to be positioned amongst the top 20 countries in the world.
