Job Title:
International Head of Secondary
Job Summary:
The International Head of Secondary is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the secondary school division (grades 6-12, or equivalent). This includes academic programs, student welfare, staff management, and fostering a multicultural, inclusive learning environment. The role aims to ensure high standards of academic excellence, innovative teaching practices, and strong pastoral care in line with the schoolโs mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1, Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the strategic planning and development of the secondary school.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Implement school-wide initiatives in collaboration with the executive leadership team.
- Promote the vision and ethos of the school, ensuring alignment with international education standards.
2. Curriculum & Teaching:
- Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of the secondary school curriculum, ensuring it meets international standards (e.g., IGCSE, IB, or equivalent).
- Lead curriculum innovation and differentiation to cater to diverse student needs.
- Ensure the effective integration of technology in teaching and learning processes.
- Maintain academic rigor and assess the performance of students to ensure continuous progress.
3. Staff Management & Development:
- Recruit, manage, and mentor teaching staff, providing professional development opportunities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of high expectations for staff.
- Promote collaborative teaching practices and interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Ensure all staff are up-to-date with the latest pedagogical and technological advancements.
4. Student Welfare & Discipline:
- Ensure strong pastoral care systems are in place to support student well-being.
- Oversee the implementation of student behavior and discipline policies.
- Promote an inclusive school culture that respects cultural diversity and international perspectives.
- Ensure support for students with learning difficulties or special educational needs.
5.Parent & Community Engagement:
- Work with local Head of Secondary to build strong relationships with parents and involve them in their childrenโs educational journey.
- Work with Local Head of Secondary to communicate regularly with the parent community regarding school activities, achievements, and developments.
- Engage with the wider community to promote the schoolโs reputation and build partnerships with local and international organizations.
6.Administrative & Operational Duties:
- Oversee secondary school budgets, resource allocation, and infrastructure development.
- Ensure compliance with local educational regulations and accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement policies related to school operations, health, and safety.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to academic performance, staff development, and student outcomes.
- Participate in all kins of school marketing activiites with support and help recruit students.
Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in managing a secondary school as a principal.
- Extensive teaching experience, preferably within an international or multicultural environment.
- Proven experience in school leadership or management, particularly in a secondary or international school setting.
- Knowledge of international curricula (such as IB, IGCSE, or A-Levels).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning platforms.
