Ukraine is still one of the attractive countries to live in. Current UAH / USD exchange rate is 26 UAH = 1 USD (34 UAH = 1 GBP), all prices here are quoted in UAH, so if you want to calculate prices in USD, you'd need to divide the number by 26 (or by 34 if you want to know the prices in GBP).
Public transport: 1 metro ride anywhere in the city costs UAH 8, a bus ticket is UAH 8-10. Taxi is between UAH 70 and UAH 150 depending on how far you want to go.
A bottle of Italian wine costs about UAH 200 (starts at UAH 150), a pint of Ukrainian beer will cost you about UAH 30. Belgian and German beer starts at UAH 50 per bottle.
Meat: in a supermarket chicken will cost you UAH 90 per kilo, beef would be UAH 120 per kilo. Cheese costs about UAH 180 per kilo.
Eating out: lunch at a cafe near ILC is UAH 70-80. Most cafes serve decent food, you can expect to pay UAH 100-200 per person for lunch.
